Rules & Strategies For Playing Poker On Android
The basic Texas Hold'em game rules, and how to play Hold’em tips shown here are those that are mainly agreed to and recommended by the experts of poker.
Probably the best way to learn, is to practice, practice practice. While all the Android Poker Apps on our site are real money apps, most of them also have practice modes where you can play for free.
The rules for Texas Hold 'em vary from most other Hold’em type games in that the players on the table are dealt only two cards, and have a choice of playing one or both of those cards from their two down cards to make the best or highest ranking final hand.
At all casino poker tables, a round plastic marker called the "dealer button" is placed in front of the player who would deal if a house dealer were not provided on the table. The button is moved one seat clockwise direction after each game and the card dealing and betting starts to the left of the "button".
Each player is dealt two cards face down. Then, a total of five community cards are dealt face up in the middle of the table in 3 betting segments 3-1-1.After all the cards are dealt around the players come up with the best hand that they can by combining either one, both, or neither of their two hole cards with five of the community cards. For example a player holding a king and a ten would end up with two pair, kings over tens with an ace.
Fold
If you don’t want to continue in the hand, you can throw the cards you have away and “leave” the current round.
Bet
If no-one before you has bet anything, you can bet yourself. For example you would say: “I bet 20 chips” and you place your chips in the pot, so that anyone who wants to continue playing must match your bet. If they choose not to, because it's too much for them to continue or they don't have a good enough hand, they can "fold".
Betting all of your chips is called going all-in. Once you are "all-in" you can’t bet any more, but you also can't be forced to fold any more. Basically, when you are all-in, you will automatically be in the hand that you have until the end of the game, giving you the possibility to win by showing the best cards. Obviously you should only do this if you think you have a winning hand.
Call
Call is when the player puts in money equal to the amount of the bet and stays in the hand. The game continues to be played and the next card is dealt, unless someone else raises.
Raise
Raise is when the player puts money into the pot equal to the amount of the bet so far, plus the raise money. All the other players on the table must call your raise, fold or reraise the player.
Showdown
The showdown is a situation when, if more than one player remains after the last betting round, remaining players expose (show there hands) and compare their hands to determine the winner or winners of the game
